Each piece, a small work of art

Materials and workmanship in Frangipani garments

The uniqueness of Frangipani Handmade lies in the combination of Indian ethnicity and the elegance of Italian style. Careful lines, harmonious shapes and sophisticated colours, combined with constant experimentation that never loses sight of the fundamental rules of good Italian taste, give life to extraordinary garments. These are made using ancient craftsmanship techniques, the result of the ‘make in India’ tradition that blends perfectly with the refined aesthetics of Made in Italy, creating unique accessories.

In India, ‘arts and crafts’ have deep roots: the secrets of handicrafts are handed down from father to son, and each region is distinguished by its specialised craftsmanship. Our craftsmen weave on ancient jacquard looms, using selected fibres of the highest quality, such as silk, Australian merino wool and modal. Each scarf is painted and embroidered by hand, making it a true work of art. The rarity of each piece derives from the beauty of certain shades, obtained with natural dyes, and the infinite variety of decorative motifs.

Each Frangipani scarf is therefore unique: in each collection, a different story is told, translating the narratives into details that reflect opulence and beauty, as it was in the iconography of the Indian maharajas.

JACQUARD SCARVES
Jacquard work is an intricate textile technique that allows the creation of fabrics with intricate and multicoloured designs. The technique allows the use of a wide range of colours and yarns, including silk, cotton and other fine materials, to create fabrics of great beauty and quality. In particular, Indian jacquard weaving is renowned because it is still done with a hand loom, preserving the craftsmanship tradition and authenticity of the product.

PRINTED SCARVES
Printed scarves are accessories with great visual impact, as they are characterised by vibrant colours and intricate patterns.
Produced using the silk-screen printing technique, a centuries-old yet still highly contemporary craft process, these scarves offer a refined and sustainable aesthetic. The end result is an exceptional accessory in which craftsmanship and contemporary design come together in a harmonious expression of style.

HAND-PAINTED SCARVES
Hand-painting textiles is one of the oldest and most valuable techniques in Indian handicraft, passed down through generations of skilled craftsmen. Brushes and natural colours are used and each scarf is decorated by hand, with designs that come to life directly on the fabric. This process requires remarkable skill: the delicate lines and precise nuances create intricate patterns that celebrate a different inspiration each year.
